Raiding is not only allowed, but encouraged.
Please ensure that at least two members of the household are present before initiating a raid.
We follow the Portal of Dreams Raid Rules.
1. Notice & Consent
Raids may be spontaneous, but must be story-driven. This is not a zone for random acts of chaos with no narrative weight.
While OOC permission for raids is not required, capture and long-term consequences must be negotiated OOC. You can initiate conflict IC, but respect player agency.
If a raid is intended to disrupt a major event (e.g., a trade deal, council meeting), a brief OOC heads-up to our Room Controller is appreciated.
2. Capture & Detainment
Individuals taken during a raid (either as captives or hostages) are not to be held longer than 3 real-life days, unless all involved parties agree to extend or end early.
If no agreement is reached, the captured individual must be released or returned after 72 hours, regardless of story resolution.
Players are encouraged to use this time to negotiate ransoms, trades, or political fallout IC.
3. Escape & Rescue Attempts
Captives may attempt to escape using clever, well-written IC actions. Play fair—no instant teleportations or godmodding.
Allies may stage rescue attempts. These must follow the same raid guidelines (IC buildup, story justification, reasonable outcomes).
If the rescue attempt fails, a new 3-day capture window does not begin unless all parties agree.
4. Limitations & Realism
No solo raids against entire groups unless you're playing a legendary character with a long-established history.
Weapons, numbers, and outcomes should be plausible and proportional. Realism enhances drama.
"Death Raids" (intended to kill all or most characters in a scene) are not permitted without prior player consent.
5. Post-Raid Consequences
The Drift remembers. Raids may trigger investigations, retaliation, or political upheaval.
NPC guards and citizens may respond to raids in believable ways. Actions have consequences.
6. Affiliate Subrooms
Affiliate subrooms will have their own raid rules. These rules do not apply to our affiliate homes unless otherwise stated.
Repeated, unreasonable raids without a meaningful story can result in OOC mediation or removal from the room.
